Christian Education

Faith is a life-long process. There are always new things to learn and experience, ways to find different or deeper understanding, and new viewpoints and lenses with which we can look at the world. At Prince of Peace, we value these learning opportunities and strive to provide many opportunities for encounters that deepen faith.

Children and Youth are invited to participate in classes that are geared to their age and stage of development. They’ll hear Bible stories that help them understand the world and understand God. They’ll learn tradition that invites them into our Lutheran roots. They’ll experience faith practices that help them make their faith their own.

Adults are invited to participate in classes and groups that revolve around current events, issues, and ministries within our congregation and wider denomination. Presentations and discussions bring people to a richer understanding of community, faith, our calling from God to be instruments of peace for the sake of the world.

We also deeply value intergenerational experiences. We are a faith community—we need each other! We work hard to ensure that children, youth, and adults all have opportunities to learn from one another and serve together.

Adult Ed Adult Ed classes rotate through short 1–6-week series proposed by committees and members of the congregation. Each series has a unique focus and brings in speakers from within and outside of the congregation to share their expertise on the topic. Time for discussion and questions is built in to the presentations. Previous topics have included Demystifying Homelessness, Mental Health, and Elder Care. These classes are available to join in person and via zoom (assuming content is not personal or private.) Zoom link for Adult Ed is sent out in the weekly Friday E-Blasts. Contact the office to be added to this list.

Need a Bible?

We have plenty to share, from story bibles for the youngest pre-readers, to student bibles for kids, to study bibles for young adults and beyond. On Rally Day every September, we have a bible blessing and hand bibles out to anyone in attendance who wants one. If you need one before then, just ask!
