Children’s Sermons

Each Sunday, a children’s message is presented for children of all ages. Special children’s bulletins are also available to entertain and educate the little ones as they sit in church. We invite and encourage everyone to worship together as a family.

Baptism

Holy Baptism is the sacrament of initiation into the Christian family.   About six times each year, we set aside a Sunday for those who desire to receive this sacrament. A special baptismal preparation program, called “Honor the Promise”, takes place the week preceding these services. Everyone celebrates this special occasion together.

Holy Communion

The sacrament of Holy Communion (sometimes called "Eucharist") is a sacred meal, commanded by Christ and celebrated by Christian believers in remembrance of his life of ministry, his life giving death, and his new life promise as the resurrected One of God.  Holy Communion is offered at each of our Sunday services. We practice “open” Communion, inviting all who believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized to share in the promises of forgiveness and new life offered through this meal. Members of our community are prepared at the fifth grade level to receive communion.

Sacred Seasons

Advent & Christmas
On the three Wednesdays preceding Christmas, our midweek worship calls people to the theme of “waiting” for the return of Christ. Each year, different formats are used, utilizing drama, special music and hymns. Each service is followed by a time of fellowship.

Lent & Easter
On the six Wednesdays leading up to Easter, a somber and reflective mood prevails as our midweek worship gives way to the repentant nature of the season. Each service is preceded by a simple Soup Supper for fellowship and faith-building. Soup Supper is at 6pm and informal worship and discussion at 7pm.

Special Services

At other times of the year, the community gathers for special services of healing, world prayer, thanksgiving, and for special musical performances and celebrations.
