Prayer Shawl Ministry
This ministry meets at 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month.  Whoever can come is welcome.   The group knits or crochets shawls to be given to people in need of prayers.  The group prays as each shawl is created and offers prayers for the one for whom it is created.  The shawls are a tangible and present sign of the love of Christ and the love of our congregation.  Anyone who can participate in the creation of shawls is welcome to come and be a part of this ministry. Contact Dianne Hellman (dbhellman@charter.net) or Claudia Blahnik for more information.

Bread and Breakfast Ministry
This ministry usually meets the first Saturday morning of each month. Bread construction begins at 7 a.m. and breakfast is served about 9 a.m.  Participants bake many loaves of bread together, prepare breakfast and share a time of fellowship.  The ministry is open to everyone of any age (children are welcome with parental supervision). Some of the loaves are designated for donation to the homeless shelter or mission in Kalamazoo, while other loaves are provided after service on Sunday to worshippers, with monetary donations going to programs the ministry selects for hunger relief. Additionally, the ministry sometimes provides bread for the worship sacrament, communion classes, new member classes, and congregational dinners. This ministry would encourage anyone who is interested to come and join the fun. Contact Wade Lawrence for more information (WBLawrence@aol.com or 353-7885).

Women’s Lunch Bunch
This fellowship group meets the third Tueday of the month at local restaurants with a focus on having different types of food experiences and an opportunity to gather with friends.  The group gathers at the designated place at 11:45 a.m. and has an hour of food and conversation.  Participation is open to all women who would like to come. For more information, please contact Terri Kopanski, our church secretary, (secretary@popportage.org or 343-3453).

Bible Study
Pastor Paul offers Bible Studies periodically throughout the fall and winter months. You may participate during any of three different times: Tuesday night at 7 p.m.; Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.; or during Sunday School in the social hall. For more information about the current topic, dates and materials, contact Pastor Paul (pastorpaul@popportage.org or 343-3453).

Jubilee Vegetable Garden
The garden team plants and harvests fresh food on our acreage behind the church. From late June to October bags and boxes of fresh food are brought to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and the Trinity and Chapel Hill Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. This ministry is a way of using our blessings to send God's love to those who wear faces of hunger and poverty in our community. If you wish to participate and would like more information, please contact Mark Clyne (markclyne@sbcglobal.net) or Rob Boulis (rboulis@chartermi.net).
